Top Speed Limiter

I more than occasionally track my 2003 CLK500 , It seems on a track like Pocono raceway when you have full use of the Tri Oval you can build up some high speed withvery little fear .
My problem is that the car tops off at 135mph accelerator all the way down and it will not climb another rpm .

Now I know the car is capable or more than that , Is there some way of disabling the limiter in hopes of getting to 150+ . I am sure the car can do at least 160 MPH without flashing the CPU .

It seems that flashing the CPU vs the 45hp gain including the exhaust and airfilter only , Not sure how much more headers will bring it up but my point its a lot of money to invest for very little hp gain .

if the car is in Diagnostic mode would that work or at the same time will I lose my ABS and Airbags ?

Any light on the subject is greatly appreciated

The "developer" mode of SDS can set Vmaxs to 155mph.

I am totally unfamiliar with that , I am guessing thats something the dealer does and not something that I am equipped to do . I dont mind if its the dealer if my thoughts are correct but i am sure they will probably hammer me on the price for that .

Some ECU tunes are $300-$400 bucks and crank HP gain is 20-25. I believe most ECU tunes remove the speed limiter.

Depending on how you drive the car, 45hp should be noticeable IMO. If, of course, you are not in the peak bands (HP and torque) it would be hard to tell the difference in a car that already grossly underutilizes its' peak capabilities in normal driving, i.e. the normal commute to and from work.
