About to purchase a 2004 CLK500

Tapping the ToushShift (or paddle, if equipped) with the revised programming does not do a "lowest possible gear". The selected gear is a function of the current gear, speed, and accelerator angle. For instance, if you are cruising along, a single "-" tap will downshift by one gear. If you are hammering the accelerator, it will downshift further, possible to the lowest gear for that speed. The difference in this operation between the 722.6 and 722.9, is that the 722.6 must physically step through each gear as it downshifts through multiple gears. The 722.9 can skip a gear as it downshifts, so if you are in 7th, it can skip 6th and jump to 5th in one operation.
Note that on any of these, if you tap and hold the TouchShift or paddle at "-", then all will do a "lowest possible gear" selection.

CLK Owners,
Do I HAVE TO change the passenger air conditioning temperature and direction every time I adjust either/both of the two on the driver's side? It's driving me insane and I read the manual section twice!!! (I believe the MY2003 and MY2004 AC control units are the same on all models.)
