Code for bad spark plugs

I am going to my indie to change motor oil soon. I will ask the guy to hook up his MB SDS to check for codes.

Are there any codes for bad or deteriorated spark plug and spark plug wire? The car drives well and no malfunction but I would like to check for preventive maintenance.

You'd probably have a CEL on if there were going to be codes. There are misfire codes that can be caused by a number of things - like a bad coil pack or bad wiring but you'd probably have symptoms in that case. There are no codes for plugs that are just getting old. That is usually done based on age/mileage, and if you don't know those things, pull one or two and look at them. No harm in scanning for any old stored codes, but you can't really look for "preemptive" codes, so to speak, for something that might fail but has not yet failed.

Thanks for the response.
I bought the spark plugs 1-2 years ago and am still waiting for "signs" to change them. The current spark plugs are 65k miles old.

How about spark plugs wires? Any code for deteriorated wires? They are expensive in Canada, $770CAN from the dealership.
