Top glitch
2. fluid is good.
3. top unlocks rear window lifts
4. cover lifts and then pump loads up and it wont go to the next phase.
5. I suspect it is a micro switch, the question is which switch and where is it located.
Thanks to all who comment.
The plastic trunk partition actives it.
The struts sometimes do not apply enough pressure.
Apply pressure to the switch and see if it works as the switch usually works as it is the strut pressure. Replace strut instead of switch.
You don't mention a dash board error message though so this is a guess.
Good hunting.
Toneau up and then the pump bogs down and it fails the start the main top lift.
seems like it is not getting the message to move on to the next function.
There are no error messages.
the fluid level is good and there are no leaks.
the pump sounds as if it loads up but does not switch to the lift roof mode.
Is there a way to reboot the top computer I suppose that with the level of computerization of this car it could be that.
I thought I needed some Freon in the ac but found a reboot (hold the defrost and recirculate buttons down) for that computer and it fixed the problem, This board is the best saved me form myself several times thanks
The cover cylinder on driver side has a follower that activates the micro switch attached to the lower part. The clip (plastic) part that holds the follower to the shaft of the cylinder had broken and it was not following.
I put a temporary fix with a small zip tie. I however would appreciate some help finding the part Number so it can be replaced with the proper part. I hate a care held together with zip ties and duct tape.
