Hi everyone. I'm a new member, with a 2003 clk cabriolet. The problem I have is this. If I hit a deep pothole with front nearside wheel, an alarm sounds, with a message on the dash that says " roof lock up " if the boot partition isn't down, I have to open the boot with the key, pull down the partition, then partially operate the roof to open, close the roof, then everything's back to normal. Any Ideas please, what could be causing this. Thanks guy's.

 

"Roof lock up" is not a message I've seen before, but if it's caused by a jolt, and moving the trunk partition fixes it, I'd suspect the common problem of weak hydraulic cylinders attached to the partition.

 

The gas struts on the partition in the boot have just failed,the partition has gone all floppy, I'm off to Merc to pick up 2 new ones. Many thanks
