CLK55 CPS almost replaced... need bit of help

located the stupid thing finally

got the old one out, new one is SUPER TIGHT. (bosch part 0261210170) i finally got it in there but now i cant see if i have the bolt hole lined up. i cant seem to get any inspection mirror in there that gives me the proper angle

should i have put a drop of motor/trans oil on this thing before i replaced it? i can barely turn it at all right now and it's going to take all my strength to pull it out to start over...

i can see why no there really isnt any good picture of this in any of the r&r threads anywhere on the internet

Did you remove the MAF sensor? That makes the job easier. You could use a bit of oil on your finger to lubricate the sensor if needed.

yes i have the MAF sensor off (upper and lower pieces that go into the throttle body). that was the only way i could get a hand in there

i guess i'll try to get it out and put a dab of oil on it like you mention

you might also want to use something to hold the screw in place to make this easier. A small piece of tape, or I have heard some people will put a drop of silicon adhesive in the hold, then set the screw in it and let it cure.

thanks for the help. i just had to swear at it several times. i used a 30mm M6 hex bolt as a lever to be able to slowly rotate the sensor until i found the threads.

i have small hands so i could get the stock bolt back in without dropping. everything is good now.

Congrats! I know that is a pain of a job for such a seemingly simple thing.

Good work. Just about every automotive procedure is a piece of cake except for the fact there is a car around the part in question preventing access.
