Easy Exit/Entry System

I do not quite understand the easy exit/entry system of my 2004 CLK-320 coupe. I double-checked the multi-function display of the steeling wheel many times.

For easy exit, the steeling wheel is supposed to go up and the driver seat is supposed to move back. For me, the steeling wheel goes up every time but for the seat. it works only sometimes I don't quite understand it but it seems that it has something to do with the memory seat.

Can someone please shred some lights on this?

I'm with you on that one bud. My seat use to go back but it doesn't anymore. I dunno why. The steering wheel still goes up though.

I think this was discussed before. If the seat is past a certain point in the settings, it wont move all the way back when the car turns off. Its probably so that the back seat passenger wont get stuck??
Try this. Move the seat more forward and then turn your car off, and see if it moves back for the easy exit.
I may be totally wrong, but try it out.

EASY OUT FUNTION

you do have a choice via the program buttons on wheel to utilize both seat movement and wheel or just wheel, arrow thru and find how it has been programmed, have found a change in programming when i did not realized i had changed it but after verifying settings it never occured again

I did check the setting in the multi-function display and I'm sure that it was programmed in a way that both the steering wheel and seat are supposed to get out of the way while I take out the key from the ignition.

I noticed that the steering wheel will always move up but the seat will move back only occasionally. I noticed that it will work for a while and then if I move the seat front-ward or backward manually or by the memory setting, the easy-exit will not move the seat again.

This problem is exacerbated by Key-Dependent "on and off" choice and again for me by the addition of Keyless Go.

The seat and steering wheel behave differently when I have the key in the ignition or just use the keyless go......can anyone shed light on this?
