Shopping for Clk diffuser

What's up everyone I'm shopping for a diffuser. Do they make a plastic insert for the clk500? Or any tips where I can find one for cheap? Thanks

i looked all over . they only make them in carbon fiber or aftermarket body kit bumpers. I am not sure why the clk parts are so expensive compare to 3 series .

3 series are way more mod friendly because there is a much higher market for their products. Just check out any of their forums and there are so many more posts and viewers in comparison to our sites

I know that but you can get a diffuser for a 3 series from 100-600 . where clk they only make the carbon fiber at 500 + .You would think that since the clk has been around for a long time and if affordable that there would be some kind of aftermarket . For example i am looking to do a dual exhaust . between the diffuser , exhaust tips and custom work it can go from $1200 to $1500 . which is ridiculous for a car thats has been produced since 2003 ( w209 )

I bought my diffuser from a member here for around 280$? I see them all the time for low 300's used in CF. Now these fit the amg bumpers, not sure about fitment on a 500. you can get a custom dual exhaust fabricated for 3-1,000$+ depending on where you go and parts used.

I was comparing the c class amg diffuser to the Clk diffuser.. And they look very similar. I'm about to jus buy one brand new unless someone around here has one for a good price.

I was actually looking into doing this and I think someone on this forum actually fitted a w203 diffuser on a Clk before. I can't imagine it being too different. Let me know if you find out anything on this. I keep hesitating on buying the VIS diffuser which is way overpriced.

That's what I'm saying! I'm hoping this is true, and yes the Clk diffusers are pricey.

Oh nice see I'm tryna get the come up like you did! I really want one. Now as far as the install for one of these carbon fiber diffusers, do I only shave the bumper to the dimensions of the exhaust tips outlets, and then stick it on? It shows it comes with 3m double side tape.
So it it pretty much a cover?

i think it there was a little more than that. No the flat black plastic piece by the exhaust comes off so its not a cover

I brought mine to a body shop. They charged me $150 to install it

I see you have the 550. I installed the VIS CF rear diffuser and the black plastic piece was not removed. I cut into it for the passenger side exhaust exit, but it is still on the car and covered by the VIS.

The bumper on a 500 is likely different. It was time consuming on the 550 (who wants to mess up a $400 part) but relatively easy to install. One edge that rolls under the fender was difficult, so I followed someone's prior and used JBWeld for that small (couple inches) section. The rest was just taping, aligning, and holding it in place while the tape cooled.

There was a DIY post on the install out here at the time I was installing. I think the DIY was on a 500.

not sure the body shop removed mine. Does your sit flush with the bumper or stick out some?

That's real I'm jus gonna buy one from someone off here or a brand new one. Only time can tell. And that's not bad for the shop to install it for 150. Because they have to take the exhaust off the hangers then start the process. And I know taking them off the hangers is a ***** so I'll probably jus have a shop do it. The problem is the shops out here in Fresno are ****ty as **** so I might do it myself.
