Shifter swap possible?
Does anyone know if a shifter and shift boot from a aW204 will fit an 04' 500?? They sure look similar. I tried to cross reference the part number with no luck thus far. Thanks so much!

Do you just want to replace the knob and leather boot, or the metal trim as well? The metal trim is a different shape and larger than the W203's but it's possible the wood (or metal) panel on the console could be altered to accommodate it. I would assume the knob mounts the same way (a lock ring underneath). The leather boot just snaps into the metal trim, and I am sure that could be adapted even if it weren't quite the right shape, though it could require cutting and/or stitching.
