personally i hate car fax. My father got hit by someone at an intersection. A small car hit his truck in the tire. He had zero damage the car front bumper was a little damaged. I guess the other people filled a claim against there insurance for the bumper. so it showed up as my father was in an accident. He sent copies of the police report that said he had no damage and carfax wouldnt remove it. So honestly you never no.

That car in question also had 5 owners. so I'm just going to pass on that one.
I'm going to place the carchex inspection on the 550.

One or more accidents will significantly degrade the resale value of the car. I wouldn't buy a used car that had accident repairs.

As to late model CLKs there are many many good examples. I'd never buy an accident car not only because it significantly degrades the value of your asset, but almost always means repainting which further degrades the value. Start with the cleanest example of the car you want, low miles, preferably one owner and original paint.

Just a few comments to throw in...
When it comes to buying a used MBZ, I prefer one that has been "broken in" as opposed to one with very low miles. For example, I'd buy one with 40K miles before one with 10K miles. These cars usually have small faults that need attention, and the lower the miles, the less a chance those things were taken care of by the previous owner. If you are getting a warranty, then that may not be so much of a concern.
As for the 550 over the 350, I'd take the V8! Gas mileage will be a little worse, but if you like the power, it's worth a few extra dollars of gasoline each week.
In terms of cars that have been in an accident, when dealing with 7 and 8 year old cars, it's going to be tough to find one that hasn't had some body damage. Body panels are just that - body panels. As long as they were properly repaired, then it doesn't bother me. Every car I've owned int he last 20 years has had to have some body work (we have crappy drivers around here!).

I can do black on black too, but I wanted a change to white since current car is black.

MBZ's official specs on the CLK55 and CLK550 0-60 times are almost identical: 5.0 sec for the CLK55 coupe, 5.2 sec for the CLK55 cabriolet, 5.1 sec for the CLK550 coupe, 5.2 sec for the CLK550 cabriolet. However, they put the qualifier "est." ont he CLK550 specs. It's actually faster. Both the CLK550 coupe and cabriolet are is good for sub-5-sec 0-60. It was a marketing maneuver to keep buyers of MY2005 CLK55s from revolting.
Regardless, the CLK55 AMG is a fine car. It has none of the "balance shaft" or transmission problems possible with the CLK550 and it's a true AMG car with better handling and features.

Yes, the CLK550 with its M273 V8 (382hp/391lbft) and 722.9 7-speed AT is faster than the CLK55 AMG with its M113 V8 (362hp/376lbft) and 722.6 5-speed AT. But...while the CLK550 does come standard with the AMG sport appearance package, it lacks the true AMG features such as the larger brakes, beefier suspension, and speed-shift transmission with an actual manual mode.

what you posted is just all the options the car has

Yes, you will be fine on either the 2008 or 2009 models you have posted.
You'll have to be above engine #2729.30.468993 on the V6 and above #2739.30.088611 on the V8, which will not be an issue for you.

MBWorld Fanatic!
Transmission broke. It will hopefully be repaired in the next 2 weeks ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I agree with Rodney, someone changed lanes into my car, put a dent in the front quarter panel and scraped the paint on the wheels. Purely cosmetic damage. Insurance repaired it perfectly at the local MB authorized panel shop and it looks better than it did before the accident. Some "accident" damage is a problem, some is not. Get an alignment done to check the chassis and you are fine.

When checking for :balance shaft: issues, the engine number is what you want, so from that data sheet:
That is far beyond the problem range (that ended with #30 88611)
Engine no.:
