Angry Drive or reverse mode not moving =(

hello everyone hope you guys can help me...i have 2004clk320
last year october I accidentally hit a goat. My radiator was replaced bec there is
oil or fluid (probably trans fluid) on reservoir, went to garage to fix and when they open the transmission pan there is a sign of water, drained and replaced all the fluid...since then i have no problem ..last two days ago I noticed there is something wrong with my car. i pulled over then turn off the key of the car.then start again put on drive and its not moving put on reverse still not moving. turn off the car for 3-5 mins put on drive then its moving, managed to go back home.the next day I used it again drive few kms heard a weird noise (its like whistling) pullover and turn off the car, start for couple of seconds put on drive not moving [only revs up] put on reverse still not moving turn off the car rest for 3-5 mins car starts moving again managed to go back home.tried it again in the parking area put on drive/reverse car is not moving.rest for 3-5 mins and its moving again. pls help guys..tnx

Sounds like a transmission problem causing it to go into limp mode. The conductor plate is a common failure, as is oil wicking up the wiring harness and entering the TCU.

it still should move in limp mode. I would see if you can pull any codes with your OBD, not all the portables will read everything. If you have to bring it to a shop def tow it. Driving it more can def damage it more.
post any codes you are getting

Yep, that's the whole purpose of limp mode - to get you to the shop, but not allow the transmission to shift and therefore protect it from damage. If it is just the conductor plate, then there's really nothing else to damage by driving in limp mode. But I echo Gixxerboy's suggestion of pulling TCU codes. I have no experience with it, but I see where some forum members are buying the iCarsoft scanner for around $100 and are happy with it as it can read all of the car's systems.

So I went to garage around 50-60kms far, my car shift as if normal, hit the road max 100km/hr and I arrived there with no problem...I told him what happened, he mentioned about the torque converter, when he check the car thru computer [like a tablet he used a wireless adapter] but i didn't remember the code bec there is too many (stupid of me i didnt take picture) but he mentioned regarding that there is log regarding the torque converter (like a misfire or miscommunication between the engine and transmission). So what he did is he cleared the all error codes then he checked it again and he said currently there is no active error, he told me to check and try my car for few days and return the car if this limp mode will happen again. so two days now im using my car with no issues...Im still worried because my wife is also using this car...

Did he check under the car's under covers for leaks?

My main seal is leaking so to prevent drips all over my floor, I taped down a pet pee mat. This has helped absorb the oil so it will not as Rudeney mentioned wicker up the wires to the TCU.

I would check the covers myself to be sure.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but it is not engine oil that wicks up into the TCU module. It is ATF that leaks past the two o-rings in the data cable plug that plugs into the connector plate in the transmission. When those o-rings fail, ATF wicks up the cable into the TCU located on the passenger footwell. Diapers won't help or prevent that from happening.
