Headlight Aim
Greetings. I'm new to the forum as I just purchased an '03 CLK55 AMG (still smile when I say that) to replace my '98 SLK230. I have searched the archives but have not been able to find my issue. My passenger's side headlight is pointed almost straight down. I have tried to raise it but the adjustment nut/rod just spins as if the threads have lost their contact. Does anyone have experience with this issue or know how to reestablish that connection?
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

It's hard to explain, and I don't have any photos to reference, but there is a pivot point inside the headlight assembly. The movable part snaps onto this pivot point/stud. It might be disconnected, or it might be broken. Either way, you'll probably need to remove the headlight to be able to see what's going on (which requires first removing the bumper). If it's just loose, you may be able to manipulate it and snap it back in place. If it's broken, then it might be repairable, but that would require "baking" the headlight so you can open it and access these internal parts.

If the adjuster spins, it is broken or dislodged, you will need to remove and assess the issue.
After it is fixed, Here is what I do for my cars:
At night of course
From your garage door or parking lot wall, measure off 25 feet. Place tape there for reference.
Now drive up to the wall/door maybe couple of inches away, and place tape where the beams break upward, it is on my cars it is like this ___/___/.
Drive straight back then adjust accordingly.
Take a drive to insure it is not blinding anyone.
To insure the light are level or slightly rake forward. Park next to a wall of a parking lot and look at the beam to see how it is angled.
Adjust as needed.
Hope that helps.
For high beams set, it at the end of the break / pattern.
Fogs go below the ___ pattern

degeja - I see nothing attached.
Rodney - Would these (http://www.ebay.com/itm/03-09-Merced...ZUKbfI&vxp=mtr) be a simple "plug and play" installation?

I can't attest to that seller's items, but they do appear to be plug-and-play. You will need to remove the bumper for the install, which is not a terribly difficult job, but takes a few hours extra.

So I just had the new headlights installed tonight. They work and look great...until the engine is started. Then the zenon low beams flash and go out. The warning appears saying both low beams are inop. Any thoughts about correcting this? Please?
