Headlight wiring question....
Has anyone been able to remove the internal wiring harness from the stock headlights on a CLK350 conv. without have to take them apart? I've done a search and found stuff close but no cigar yet. The wiring in both buckets has degraded to the point of 70-90% of the wiring is exposed copper now. I would prefer to not have to drop the bumper and heat them up to separate the halves.

You aren't going to get the wiring out without baking the headlights....
Removing the bumper takes about 25 minutes. Removing the headlights takes 10 minutes if that, after the bumper is removed.
Baking the headlights at 240 degrees for 8 minutes then pulling them apart is quite simple. At that point you have access to everything and can re-wire everything in the headlight if you so desire.

Well dammit. I was hoping that wasn't the case. I could swear I can feel tabs where the inner harness mounts to the body of the assembly.
Well, now to contemplate complete swap of attempt to tear them apart and rebuild..... /sigh
