You want low end response with a rear mount turbo?

I would put a centrifugal supercharger in before even considering a rear mount turbo.

How/who is going to tune it?

Who said rear mount? I said as close as I can get it to manifolds if I have to chop and fabricate that's what's going down

If you can get a T70 to fit anywhere near the engine bay then props to you especially for your allocated budget. In all sincerity I do hope you can pull it off but having looked at many of these forced induction options in detail on several cars it is never easy and never cheap.

Indeed. Having owned several modded forced induction cars that budget is laughable...for a decent setup. I won't get into explaining what's wrong with EBay turbos. There's plenty of info out there.

Buy hey if you do pull it off and it works and lasts...sign me up. I'll buy a set

I love naysayers. I guess you wouldn't believe that I built my own house with my mitts for 6,000$ either **** I only paid 4600$ for this car and 200$ for the spare engine. Yet here I am basking in it and other people are paying 1200 a month just for their roof over their heads and in debt for the next 30 years and I built mine in 2 weeks and debt free. Makes me feel like a God among mere mortals. So you'll have to excuse my laughable budget and abilities to make things happen for a fraction of what other people can.

Also once it's been done I don't sign people up they should have come aboard before the ship set sail.

I'll be sure to post pictures of how I did it after all that's what this forum is all about tips tricks advice isn't it. Like I posted before if I need to cut a spot in the hood for them and fabricate a new cowling or something that looks decent I will and it won't cost an arm and a leg either.

I'd love to see the process man! If it can reliably make power I'd love to do it too. Subscribed definitely.

I was digging through the emails I had with the owner of the turbo CLK. He sent a few pictures so I thought I'd post them here for you and anyone else thinking about it. His is a rear mount single turbo.

It will be interesting to find space I need to order the turbo so I can get to fitting it or them in place. Here is a few I'm looking at and some piping kit

I don't have any emissions to deal with so my exhaust can be chopped at the manifolds and I can customize how I see fit and I'm thinking that will free up enough space for my plans but if not I'm sure there Will be room somewhere I can live with

Looks like understanding sarcasm is not on your long list of accomplishments .

Regardless, all the best with your eBay build. Should be entertaining.

The current generation 600 and 65 use the 7 speed so 13+ sl65 and 15+ s600, s65 and 16+ g65. So they must've found a way to handle the massive torque output of the v12 tt. The 4matics used to use the 5 speed for some time as well, but those are 7 speed now too. The refreshed CLS550 now has a 9 speed, so maybe they'll move over to that eventually, but don't see the point of more than 7 (even 6) gears really.

It was a friendly joke haha

But yeah, it does have a lot of HP/TQ but it is quite a heavy car. I've also seen builds where they take off the SC and put two turbos which is crazy!

Surprise surprise haha. What grandiose mods do you have in mind for this car? I suggest a quick headlight restoration project. Enjoy the CLS section.
