front and rear sam modules- need help
Hi All, I have a 2005 clk500 convertible with electrical issues. It started with just the top not working,back windows and trunk. Now I also have issues with "display malfunction" all sorts of lights flashing on the dash and the front windows acting erratic. I took it to the local indy shop they ran the diagnostics and said there is no communication from both sam modules and recommend replacing ($1500)
So, I took the car and purchased used front and rear sam modules off ebay I installed them over the weekend. The car started right up however nothing changed I am still having the same exact problems. I called back the shop and they insist I need new sam modules and programming. I just don't understand if the original sam modules are bad wouldn't the used ones I installed made some kind of difference? Or do I need to have them coded to the car? I just think it's strange how nothing changed and still have the same malfuncctions. TIA
