2007 clk550 convertible
New owner just hit a pothole,not that hard, and blew the sidewall out of my 18"Hankook 225 40 18 front passengers side tire.Is this common for these tires.Any info on maintainance or things to look for with this model is appreciated. I will try to put up a pic eventually Black on black .Any input on installing Bluetooth, the car is pre wired but I think I need a connector and dongle how should I proceed is the wiring easy once the console box is removed.

You must have aftermarket wheels because the 2007 came with 17" wheels. I doubt Hankook tires have more blowouts than others. Search the forum about factory bluetooth. Question gets asked lot. Basically don't bother with factory - it will cost $1,000.

It could be the way you hit the pot hole maybe there was a sharp edge . Do you know how old the tires are ? As for the Bluetooth I would not buy the oem as yidney stated there are some aftermarket radios that integrate with the HK system you can even get the android ones which will give you Bluetooth , ipod , SD card among other upgrades .

Thanks for the info Tires are 2013 .I probably just got unlucky.Wheels are aftermarket chrome clk55 copies I wish I had the originals.Any things I should be watching out for with the 550

Did you check to see if your engine is in the VIN range for the potential "balance shaft" failure? Not really a balance shaft on the V8, but it usually gets lumped in with the V6 discussion. You can post your VIN - there's a whole thread dedicated to that - and somebody can tell you. Also, the earlier 722.9 transmissions can be problematic. Neither problem may ever arise. Otherwise the cars are pretty reliable. But how many miles are on it? If you don't know if the tranny fluid was ever changed, it should be. You may also be in the range where some suspension parts may be wearing.
