2007 CLK 350 Convertible Suspension Overhaul?

So I have this noise that appears to be coming from the right front wheel. The car has 121,000 miles and there has been no work done to the front suspension.
The car other wise is in great condition. Other than the usual wear components, this car has had no maintenance issues. It is my wife's daily driver and it will continue to be as long as it runs good.

Based on the comments in the other posts, I think I need to replace some of the wear components. For the most part, I see nothing wrong upon inspection. There is some cracking in the rubber around one control arm bushings but sway bar bushings look okay compared to some photos I have seen on the internet.

So what parts should I consider replacing and how much of the work can I do my self? I think the struts are going to have to be done by a garage that has the proper tools. But how much can I do at home with my jack stands?

I am a pretty capable shade tree mechanic. But this will be my first major suspension job. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Cracks on the control arm bushings are a problem. The torque strut bushing is fluid filled and is made to not just pivot, but also twist. When it goes (and at this mileage, it's lasted twice as long as most) you'll get noise and really poor handling. I'd suggest replacing all four control arms. Get good ones - Lemfoerder is the OEM. Most other brands (even many name brands) are Chinese.

As for the struts, they can be removed without a spring compressor. You can buy pre-assembled struts and springs ready to install. Or, rent a spring compressor and replace just the strut.

I dont suppose you have access to the torque specs for these components do you? I am going to start with the control arms, torque strut and sway links. I appreciate your advice. ck
