Keyless go issues-replaced handle still no go

Hello everyone,

As the title states. 2005 clk55. Replaced keyless go door handle one drivers side with a new one from pelican parts, still does not work. Keyless go works on passenger side and starts up with the engine start button on the shifter, hooked it up to a diagnostic machine and it says it's not detected...took it apart three times and put it together just to make sure and still nothing, doesn't lock or unlock with keyless. Manually pressing on the key does work

Please let me know if you have any suggestions or possibilities. I already checked fuse box under the hood and fuses on the side by steering wheel thank you all for your time

Sounds like it's a bad antenna in the driver's door and not the handle.

Than you for the reply. I'm on mobile and will search for a diy online...now that I have you here another question...

I've been trying to smog my car for four days now and the secondary air pump is still showing as incomplete...I tried the procedures of Doing a cold start and idle with ac and rear defroster for 2.5 minutes to no avail...any other tips? I really want to register this car

Here is some info on KeylessGo that might help:

http://benzbits.com/w209/KeylessGoComponents.pdf
http://benzbits.com/w209/KeylessGoDiagram.pdf
http://benzbits.com/w209/KeylessGoParts.pdf

The left and right door antennas are the same, so you could test my theory by swapping them. Here's how to remove the door panel:

Thank you so much for your help. Are these universal for all Mercedes? I looked on parts.com and I found a control unit for the keyless go listed at around 400$
Part number 2098202226

Does this sound like the right one?

Thank you again for the help sir
