Issue with sound system?
Hello, I was having an issue with my stereo not turning off (audio functioning normally) with the car so I removed the plugs from the amplifier and tried plugging them back in. After that there has been no sound at all. The "sound" option on the head unit also does not show anymore and is blank. I unplugged the battery for about two hours and reconnected it, which solved the issue with the stereo not turning off with the car, but the audio still doesn't work for some reason. Would anyone have some insight?
Thanks
Thanks

It seems that the radio is not talking to the amp. This could be a fiber issue or an amp issue. Is this on a W209CLK? I see your profile (and photo) shows an R230? If it's a W209, do you have a CD changer? If so, does the radio recognize it? If not, then it's fiber. Oh, and what about Sirius? If thh radio can;t see the Sirius tuner, then it's fiber.

Thanks for the reply. I haven't updated my profile in a while, it is indeed a W209 (2009 CLK350).
Here is what my screens are:
It is equipped with a CD changer, and according to the picture, it does seem to recognize it. It also has Sirius, and im not sure if it recognizes it according to that picture. I have switched out my amplifier with another working one, and the problem did not change, so I'm certain it is not from the amplifier itself.

No, it does not recodgnize the CD changer's existence. The "CD" button is for the single-slot behind the screen. You should see a "CDC" button below the "CD" button. That, with no sound, and no Sirius tuner recognized means you have a broken/disconnected fiber loop. I'd start at the amp where you unplugged it and make sure the fiber connection is securely seated. Also check to make sure none of the fiber is bent or broken. The fiber is a pair of stiff orange wires.

I inspected the amplifier in the trunk as well as the sirius module, and found out that the fiber optic cables were both lighting up to the two units. The fiber optic on the amplifier itself was lighting up also, but not on the sirius module. I figured at this point, the culprit has to be the faulty sat radio module. I bypassed it using the OEM bypass coupler from the dealer, fired the car up, and bam! sound!. Thanks everyone for your help.
