Window Switch Removal

Hi, so ever since I've had the car, the NS rear window switch has been broken. It will activate for downwards movement, but breaks off in hand when you pull up on the switch.

Anyway, I managed to find a replacement switch, and need to install it. I was wondering whether anyone knew how I am to go about removing the existing one. It looks like I have to remove a collar around the switch and push the switch in from behind, but even with a significant amount of force on the collar, it didn't seem to want to shift out, and I couldn't see any tabs to press in order to remove it.

If anyone has any tips I'd be most grateful,

Ben

What do you mean by "NS"? I assume you mean a switch located in the rear seat as opposed to the driver's door?

Sorry, not that it is likely to be relevant in this scenario anyway, but near side was what I was referring to with NS

I'm surprised somebody with WIS has not responded. I've had my rear side panel off more than once, but never took note of how the switch is held in. But removing the side panel does not take long.

Having had no thoughts on how to go about it, I had hoped the lazy option of asking would have worked, as I have a hard time finding the information I need on WIS. I feel like I need a lesson in how to use it properly hahaha. Anyhow, after a while, I have found the document, and the rear panel does indeed need to come off. Thankfully however the document for window switch removal/installation had a link to that document, a nice surprise.

So now I know I need to take the side panel off, I shall go do it in the dark now

Or not.. Having looked at the document to remove the whole thing, I'll leave it in the garage, a job for the weekend. Looks like although not difficult, it could take a bit more time than I have tonight.
