Crankshaft Position Sensor
Hello, a few weeks ago I managed to replace the CPS on my daughter's 2004 W209 CLK 320. During the process I moved some wires aside and noted the ribbed, heat protecting wire wrap crumbled, exposing the wires back there. I didn't replace immediately thinking I had time to rewrap them later. Now entry/exit convenience option doesn't work and I wonder if it's related... any thoughts on this?

Thanks Plutoe. We have not checked the batteries, and will do so immediately. However when going into the menu to turn the option back on, the "OFF" position will not toggle to the "ON" position. In addition, the steering wheel will not go up and down anymore (broken dogbone perhaps?), but the seat controls still work.

Just a side note but in the motoring world the initials CPS are usually used to denote cam position sensor rather than crank. The crank position sensor is usually shortened to CKP.....it helps to avoid confusion!

CLK200K-UK - There shouldn't be any confusion if you noticed the subject heading, which states: Crankshaft Position Sensor. Thus the shortened version of "CPS" for this thread. Thanks for your helpful reply.
