This may seem to be an simplistic question, an hopefully it is not an idiotic one. If it is, then mea culpa!!

I own a 2004 MB CLK320 with 99,500 miles. The time has come to replace the spark plugs. However, how many are there?

I read in multiple messages that there are 12 sparks plugs on this six-cylinder engine. The vendor "pelican.com" also lists 12 spark plugs as the needed quantity. But when I look at the engine, with the giant air intake box removed, I see only three spark plugs per side, located just below the valve cover and above the exhaust manifold.

So, how many spark plugs are there? If there are twelve, where are the additional six located? Thank you very much for your help.

its a V6 so theres 12 plugs. 2 plugs on each.

I checked again on the engine and found them. Six per side!!

I used Bosch FR8DPP33 and have no regrets. They go for about $54 for 12 on Ebay
