Clk 200 Kompressor Convertible
Brake upgrade

Hello guys!

I have a CLK 200 Kompressor Convertible, and planning to upgrade front brakes with new 4pistons calipers.

I believe I can buy used ones from other versions as CLK55 but if anyone knows it better please let me know as I'm still learning about Mercedes and CLKs.

Just to make it a bit more safer without going crazy with a super upgrade.

Thanks!

Joao

None for now
I don't think your wheels would clear those calipers, not 100% though.

the o4 clk55 came with 17 so depending on the style it may work. My question is why. The brakes on your car are more than sufficient to stop your car. Buy better pads and tires. It will probably make a much bigger/noticeable difference.

depending on the shape of the wheel you may or need spacers. You will also need new rotors

hahaha ... good one 😃

I would like to keep for now the 17" wheels.

But to be honest, after driving this car for the first times, I think this is an upgrade to be made. I dont think it brakes very well and it have still good discs and pads.

my question is: from which merc model I can get 4 pistons calipers almost plug&play?

Thanks!

My CLK550 had 4-pot calipers on 17" rims. i was very happy with the setup.

Doesnt the CLK200 come with 4 piston calipers up front? I realize they will not be the same as the 55AMG brakes, but how much do you want to spend vs. how much braking power do you want?

Personally, I'd first start by throwing on better pads and see where that gets you. I have had EBC Yellows on my stock caliper and it was too much braking power for the road!!! I'll be trying EBC Reds next time. Try them! Its <$100 for the fronts
