Radio harness pin out
Hello guys I need to know the pin out for the radio harness on a 2004 with bose non navigation and cd player
.I need to know the battery , switch 12 v , illumination and reverse . Thanks

Discrete circuits for switched 12v, illumination and reverse do not exist on the wiring harness. The factory radio gets these signals via the CAN bus. For an aftermarket radio, us the cigarette lighter and the light in the ashtray for the switched 12v and illumination. You can tap into the gearshift indicator for reverse. Constant 12v is available on the wiring harness A4:

your a life saver . I have my car in peaces and i was banging my head trying to figure out why my radio wouldn't work . on the cigarette lighter there is 3 wires is onw for the light and one 12 v switched? do you also know what wire for the gear shift indicator ?

I don't know offhand which wires to tap into, though I have done this on my kid's C240. The three wires to the ashtray are ground, switched 12v and illumination. Use a voltmeter to test which is which. As for picking up reverse on the shifter indicator, again, use a voltmeter. These are all just simple 12v circuits.
