Coilovers for a daily driven clk320

Hey Guys,
I was wondering if any of you are trying to get rid of a used set of coilovers for the w209? I'd be interested in them. Please send me a message.

It's for a daily that i am looking to go as low as possible. No track use or anything like that, so not really looking for KW's or Bilstein.

If nobody has any used ones for sale, can you let me know which ones go down the lowest? I had Tein's on my w203 that were ok, but I think BCforged went lower. I know there are a bunch of other brands out there these days, just never seen them on any w209's.. Thanks for your help!

I never wanted to drop more than 20mm but I found that some of them can't drop very low without spacers in the front. The kw's are fine for daily use unless your roads are terrible but then you wouldn't be going very low anyway. I don't regret getting them in terms of the final result but it was a nightmare installing them and getting them certified road legal in my country. I wouldn't do it again for that reason.

Find some high quality bilsteins or even koni shocks with low springs. You will need adjustable camber arms and maybe toe arms too.

The reason why i don't want KW's or Billsteins is because, one, i don't want to spend that much money for coilovers and two, they don't go as low as others. I was looking to spend about $1k. All the coilovers in this price range are good enough for daily driving. And yes the springs on the KW's are wider than others so you either need spacers or lower offset wheels. I should be good though, i think ill be getting BC coilovers. My CLK55 has Megan Racing coilovers, but i've only heard good things about the BC.

Definitely going to pick up another set of adjustable camber arms.

The E55 guys use a lot of BC coilovers when they have had enough fun with the airmatic. They all seem to love the ride quality. I'm sure some BC or Tein will do what you need. I used the topspeed rear camber arms, they are solid steel, not tube and seemed pretty good quality. CDM motorsports on the forum has them.

I picked up the BC racing coilovers, and love them. Should have pics up soon. I also want to install the rear camber arms, but i read that there is a sensor on that arm, so if you have bix you should not switch it out. Do you know if thats true?

Thanks!

The sensor for my lights was in the front, I think it was part of the sway bar assembly. There was nothing on the rear arms that I remember.

Depending on what lights you have you may have an arm that attaches to the rear camber arms. You can just clamp the arm to the new ones. We do it all the time with no issues.

How do you like the BC coil overs so far? Did these have camber plates or did they attach to the stock rubber mount? Did you tune them for a comfortable ride or are they pretty aggressive?

I have Bilstein B8s combined with H&R sways and Im trying to justify some coilovers for the track :P The B8s are awesome on the street, so I kind of want to swap those to the 550.

Ive only had them for about a week now, but so far so good. When the shop installed them, they didn't mess with any settings. So basically the stiffness is how it came which is pretty soft and comfortable. I will be working on that soon. I'd like to stiffen them up a little bit. It rides basically like a stock setup right now. I do not believe i have camber plates. Ill have to check on that.

Its a daily, so comfortable is ok with me. I do like the ride when its a little stiffer though, no homo, lol!
