Gear Change Anomalies / Engine Codes ?
Hi All, Happy New Year,
On way to celebrations Saturday Night, Engine Fault Light came on, (08 CLK200 W209 Cab 74K Miles), Whilst she ran lovely as always, some strange gear changes going on and felt a bit flat. Straight into local general indie this morning, (good friend) who popped dyagnostic on and came back with:
Y58/1 Purge Control Valve
Y32 Air Pump Switchover Valve
Heating G3/2 02 Sensor Upstream CAT
Heating G3/1 02 Sensor Downstream CAT
M16/7 Recirculating Air Flap
We switched them off and reset then reloaded dyagnostics, Engine light went out but codes still active, so seems there is something wrong. However before changing all and sundry including CAT, has anyone any ideas if any one item may be sending out all the other sensors?
Grateful for any guidance and many thanks, have searched individual codes but don't really understand how each may relate to another.
Regards
Paul P

I'd suspect the "flat" feeling and gear changes are due to reduced engine performance.
Those two won't affect performance - just emissions.
These two could affect performance as the ECU will go into a default
Normally, this would not affect performance as this valve is used to redirect the supercharger's output to the exhaust (in place of an electric air pump), but if it's stuck, it could be adversely affecting supercharger output, so I'd start here as this could be causing all of the latter 3 codes.
