Advice - buying first CLK320
Hello, UK based, looking to pull the trigger on a W209 CLK320, as a strictly weekend/social car. For spec / mileage / cost I'm after I'm looking at pretty high mileage c.100K. While my long time benz owner father is coming with to help, he's more experienced with the 500 engines and S/CL classes
Basically - what are the danger signs, what sort of work should have been done, parts replaced on that sort of mileage?
Tricky search as I have weird taste and only like the Elegance spec with walnut and pale interiors - here most people went sporty haha.

Drive over 65 somewhere to check for pulsating vibration-
for bent wheels, or something
If HID, check headlights for no flickering ( ie bad ballast or just bulb)
Check if spark plugs ever replaced; also shocks

The M112 is a great engine. The 5.0 V8 used in the S/CL is the M113, which is basically the same as the M112 with two extra cylinders, so your father should feel right at home. Other than the usual issues with used cars, the CLK320 should be a good one.

See if there has been a transmission service recently. There are some common things that can occur which are pretty easy to fix and shouldn't put you off an otherwise great car. There are also things which are expensive and worth avoiding. Its a CLK55 thread but all of it should apply to the CLK320 https://mbworld.org/forums/clk55-amg...clk55-amg.html
