Exclamation Soft top and window malfunction

I recently acquired a 2003 CLK 320 62k miles designo interior convertible with top and window problems. Upon starting the car the windows will all roll down completely and when you try to use the window switches to controlled roll them back up they have a mind of there own, and often won't work(if you press and hold to close the top they will sometimes all roll up). As for the top with the parking brake on and the roof unlatched the top button seemingly does nothing when pressed to open the roof. I took the car to a local eurofix shop to read the codes and they told me that they found no communication from the soft top control module or the rear SAM and obviously I was quoted a ridiculous price to diagnose and repair the problem. With that being said I have turned to the mercy of MBWorld to help revive this sweet automobile, I live in Nashville, Tennessee and would appreciate any and all help/advice.

From here my next step would be to replace the soft top control module, is this a DIY or not the shop said they would need to "program" the module if replaced?

You are in the wrong forum. Convertibles were still a W208 in 2003. But when you post over there, take a breath and try to be a bit clearer without the run-on sentences with almost no punctuation.
