Bad Battery causing COMMAND color change
Greetings Friends,
My 2007 W209 (CLK350) has developed an interesting tic.
QUICK QUESTION: Can a bad/old battery manifest itself in color change in the CLK COMMAND?
Here is the back story?
While driving, whether on city streets or on the freeway my COMMAND will occasionally change color to pink. If I tap the screen directly OR the bezel around the screen it will revert back to the normal color. The screen occasionally will switch back to pink, tapping it reverts it back to normal again.
In my wife's old 2002 (W203) C240 we experienced weird electrical gremlins with interior lights remaining on and dim at the inappropriate time. Our mechanic suggested replacing the 5 year old battery and that solved the problem.
The CLK is running on a 5 year old battery. The volts while driving reads 13.9 to 14.1 volts. Today while driving in 105 degree Southern California heat the COMMAND went pink again. This time I shut off the A/C and the screen immediatly reverted back to normal without the love tap. I switched the A/C on again and the screen went pink again, however switching the A/C off a second time did not resolve the issue.
Can an old battery cause COMMAND lighting issues? Though I do plan on changing the battery, other than this COMMAND issue I don't see a need yet. Car cranks over strong right off
Thanks
