new aux cable for the current generation Iphone??
Ive had this for a few months thinking it would plug and play into the factory cable.
No luck, it does not fit. Got it out today, but not sure if I'm missing a step.
anybody using this?

THe forum is no longer showing the "cars I drive" in our avatar panels, but I checked the OP's "about me" page and see it;s a MY2009 CLK350. That cable looks like what is used for the newer NTG 2.5 COMAND systems. You car has NTG 2.0 COMAND or "Audio 50" an that cable won't work. If you want to plug in an iPod, your options are to use the analog AUX input (which should be in your glove compartment), or, if you want playlist and track control, there is a factory iPod interface kit. It does no control the iPod or display info via the head unit. Instead, you use the steering wheel controls for track./playlist access, and info is displayed only on the instrument cluster's MFD. Like this one (no recommendation on that seller - just a quick find of the item):

what I did in my 08 and 06 CLK is I had the original iPod kit already installed, and then I bought this OEM MB 5 to 12 volt for iPod to iPhone:

And then I bought an OEM Apple 30 pin to lightning adapter.
No Chinese knockoffs; this set up works great for charging and playback, while a little clunky.
But I already had the 30 pin iPod cable installed in each car.
