722.6 Dipstick Position

Hi guys, I was under the impression that I had my trans fluid level measured correctly. However after just doing a bit of reading before I depart on a road trip through Europe, I've ascertained some doubt as to my method.

I assumed that the dipstick was supposed to go through the resistance point at the last little bit of the dipstick so that it touches the pan (but not enough to flex the plastic end piece) in order to read correctly.

However, I came across a post where it was mentioned that some dipsticks for the 722.6 have a diamond stop above the markings to sit on the resistance point and prevent the dipstick entering the box even further.

If this is the case my trans has been running on low fluid for ~25k miles. Changes are smooth and crisp, and it seems perfectly fine, however after reading this I question if it is indeed correct, potentially affecting the longevity of my box.

TIA, Ben

NO LONGER ACTIVE
As long as you have not experienced any slipping or slamming, no worries.

Exactly. That was my logic but I wanted to double check as I am with everything else on the car hahaha. My first time driving on the continent and I don't want to encounter any issues! I know she's well looked after so I know she's more than capable. I'll try and take a few pictures along my trip. I'll be driving through France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany, plenty of things to see

Enjoy your trip and definitely take some scenic pics through the car's pilarless design with the windows down.

I said "through the car's pilarless design" not "from".
