Convertible Top not Retracting
Hey guys!
New to this forum, just picked up a 06 CLK350. Problem, the top is not retracting. Im getting the "make sure trunk partition is open" which it is...
Any other ideas/ suggestions on how to troubleshoot this?

There is switch that gets tripped when the partition cover is closed. It takes a good bit of pressure to activate it. There are two "Lift-O-Mat" struts on the partition cover that keep it securely closed. There struts become weak over time and need to be replaced. You can get them for around $25 each. Search the forum for "partition strut" and you'll likely find some good threads on where to buy and how to replace.
