Exhaust piping size

hello, does anybody know the exhaust pipe size for my 2004 clk320? I've searched for it but everyone is saying that's it's 2.25", 2.5" and even "3. I want to buy these electric cutouts but want it to be the exact size as the pipe before hitting the mufflers

Thanks

For the 550 the front pipe size is 2.25" OD. The main pipe (aft the "Y" pipe is 2.75" OD). The main pipe is 14 gauge. I am not sure of the front pipe, put I believe it to is 14 gauge. You can check parts.com and see if the part numbers for the exhaust is the same between a 320,350,55, and 550.

The other thing you can do is actually measure your pipes. You can use a caliper, of course if you have one, or you can use a tape measure and measure the circumference (C) of the pipe. C=2pir. 2pi=~6.28. D=2r. sooo D=C/3.14... D is the outside diameter of the pipe.
