Aftermarket Double Din .
Hi all.
The current stereo { AUIDO 20 I think } Has gone capout and want to know if its just a simple change over from the factory fit stereo to and aftermarket double din ?
Im not worried about steering wheel controls just whether theres any special wiring kit needed or if as I say its just a straightforwards change over .
I already have a adaptor facia for my CLK 200 2006 model .
Thanks in advance Tilt.

If you have the Harmon-Kardon option, then it's more complicated as there is a digital amp in the trunk. If not, then all your speaker wire is in the dash and an aftermarket wiring harness kit will give you everything except +12v switched and illumination, both of with you can pickup from the cigarette lighter and ashtray.

You can;t tell by just looking at the head units as both base and H-K units look the same. The easiest way to tell is see if you have the "Logic7" setting in the sound menu. If so, it's the H-K system.

If you really want to upgrade to something that will give you Bluetooth usb xm navigation etc . Aftermarket is the best way to go . You need a head unit , 5 ch amplifier, amp wiring kit and rca cables . You can even keep your radio controls . If you don't want to go this route. You can also get the aftermarket android head units that's specificly made for the w209 . If you don't have the HK system you don't need an aftermarket amp . And even if you do they make a bypass cable that runs the speakers off the head unit. Also you don't need an aftermarket amp . If you need help with this let me know
