I was out walking thru mid-town NYC at lunch-time when my eyes fell on this thing of beauty. Twin lights like the new CLK pictures, a coupe Mercedes that immediately reminded me of the new CLK, upon further examination, it was a 2003 SL500 in brilliant silver, and aftermarket 19" wheels. Looking at it from the front, it reminded me of the new CLK, and I could picture the new CLK looking like that.

I've seen the SL55 at the autoshow (though not out in the real world in realworld traffic etc), I haven't seen the new CLK in real life, but if it looks like this car did from the front and all around(and I think it will) this is going to be ONE HOT CAR.

I agree... The new SL is outstandingly beautiful. It has to be one of the best looking cars available bar none !

When I was in the dealer last week ordering my new CLK, all i could do was stand and stare at the three SL500s they had in the showroom. If the new CLK does look similar or even 10% as good as the SL i'll be one happy bunny in a few months....

it's pretty crazy but I saw 2 03 SL's in the lexus used car lot in my area. I haven't stopped to check exactly what model they are but I am sure they are the new SL's..one of them is silver and the other is a blue...

i thought it was strange to see those cars there...

No surprise...Every Lexus lot in South Florida has one..Why, They know that they can get $20K over list for the " Used " car in the lot...And when the Lexus customer walks in, the salesman will say...See, we had a guy trade in his brand new SL500 on a SC 430 convertible...

I was at the Sepang malaysian F1 granf prix last month and guess what?

they had Alexander Wurz roughing up the SL55 AMG on the circuit! This car is amazing. It sounds like a VIPER ( amazingly ) and smokes like too! But the acceleration on this baby is aaaaaaawsum!!!

Too funny- I brought my mother's LX470 in for service and saw a 2003 sl500 on display- I asked how they got it and the guy told me it was traded in for an SL- I looked at him and just had to grin.

i just saw a ferrari 355 in the lexus lot as well... this is just crazy... not even the MB lots of used ferrari's forsale...

i suppose it is possible that someone had some circumstances to trade in their new SL for a lex of a larger size..but i find it hard to believe that they would have 2 SL's and now a freaking ferrari...

The Benz dealerships in my area always have a ferraris and or lotus out there. The funny thing is that they keep them outside in the hot florida sun. I don't know about you but if I were going to buy a ferrari I don't think it would be sittingout on a lot when I picked it out!!!!!!!!

The Benz dealership I went to get the c320 for my gf, it has 2 Ferrari 360 ,a Z8 and few other expensive cars on the showroom. Same thing when I purchase my m3 in a BMW dealership. I don't know about Lexus dearships because I never been there before and I never will (not too fond of their cars!) I think every dealerships will use the same sale approach and concept!

interesting! In Germany there are no Lexus-Dealers who sale *new* Mercedes-Benz cars (because customer would buy the Benz instead of a ******* copy made by Toyota/Lexus), and other Dealers only have older cars from other brands... I'll tell our local Mercedes dealer to buy a Lexus SC430 telling there customer it has been replaced by a MB SL 55 AMG to show the superiority of Mercedes-Benz... for sure people would laugh they know MB is better
