Fuzzy battery terminals?

I was cleaning out my various car supplies and getting rid of what I no l longer need, including a can of battery terminal cleaner and can of terminal protectant. It occurred to me that I have not seen a corroded battery terminal in years, so I got rid of them. Is there a reason that terminals don't seem to corrode like they used to?

NO LONGER ACTIVE
Corrosion is caused by acid leaking from the battery. Modern batteries are better at being sealed. Also, AGM batteries are incredibly well sealed and pretty much don't leak.
