2007 CLK 350 vin check
Hey, in the market for a new vehicle and came across 2007 CLK 350 with 120k for $6K. I believe the engine on this one may have bin prone to the cam shaft issues could someone check? The engine # is
272960 30 438497
Looking at the car fax the cam shaft seals were replaced at 72K , cam shaft position sensor and thermostat were replaced at 80K, and the thermostat once again along with the radiator were replaced at 100K.
Assuming this was one of the faulty engines, were those the necessary repairs necessary?

Those repairs were likely necessary and common issues, but that's not a repair of the balance shaft. Personally, I'd find one not int he range. if it fails, you;re looking at $4K+ for the repair, unless you can DIY. Even then it's about $1K in parts.
