Help Identifying A Part

Hi Everyone,

I am having an issue with my 2005 CLK320 Convertible. This part is not engaging and locking the partition in place and I would like to order it but I can't seem to locate a part number online and the dealership is requesting that I make an appointment. Any help is greatly appreciated. It's located on the left Driver side in the trunk . When I pull the luggage cover forward to engage the roof, it will not click in place. The hydraulic pistons were recently replaced and are strong enough to engage. THANK YOU in advance.

If you have replaced the gas "Lift-O-Mat" struts for the partition, then it should lock securely in place when you pull it toward the rear of the car. If it does, and you still get a "partition" message on the instrument cluster, then it could be a bad limit switch or even a broken plastic tab in the partition not engaging the limit switch.

Thanks so much for the reply... It seems like the catch where I put the arrow is broken. there is some play in it and will not stay locked in. I have been doing a lot of looking at MB Diagrams and I think It might be this: S84/9 Trunk Partition Limit Switch A2098209310 as you are suggesting. Looks similar to what I found here.... http://benzbits.com/w209/soft_top/W2...icAid_V1.0.pdf

Yes, that's the limit switch I was mentioning. I should have linked to that page - it's a diagnostic aid I created for the W209 CLK based on one that MBZ provided for the R230 SL-Class/.

Thanks so much for creating that document! I think you might have saved me an appointment and a whole lot of aggravation at the dealership.
