I didnt install an alpine unit but i installed a kenwood unit . So if you need help with wiring etc let me know . As for the size . Just make sure its adjustable . but I can imagine it doesnt look that great from the side since it sticks out .

2008 CLK550, 2015 GLK350 4 Matic, 2017 GLE
I looked at that model and didn’t like the way it would mount on my 08, CLK550. I had them install this one. I’m heading out right now to pick it up. If you want, I will let you know how it goes?

Yes - please update with installed pictures -
Car stereos are not my item hence the questions -
2003 W209 CLK500 coupe w/ single din -
Looking to upgrade for a more modern look
and add a UBS plug-in for external hard drive -
I want the steering wheel controls to work and
the only features that I want are local AM / FM
stations and also the use of an external hard drive
using a UBS cable for music as well as videos -
The unit must be able to play videos -
I am not interested in any other function the unit
may be capable of performing -
I am hoping for plug and play and I am aware that
a new cable to the amp in the trunk is also needed -
I was hoping for a 8" screen but not really finding
one at Alpine or Kenwood -
So I am now looking at 7" screens -

Check out carstereowarehouseoc on instagram. They posted a video and pictures of my red CLK 550 last night. You can get a good look at the system. Mine DOES NOT play video. Very clean installation.
