Speed43 airbox

i recently installed one of speed43’s air boxes on my 2003 CLK500. The car has been driven about 100 miles since the installation. Let me say upfront that I did not do a pre &post dyno run, so my evaluation is purely “seat of the pants”.

The biggest difference I noticed was in throttle response. I immediately noticed quicker throttle response across the rpm range. The car seems to “jump off the line” and quickly revs above the 1800-2000 rpm range. Don’t know what the impact will be on mileage but, if you have to worry about that, you really shouldn’t own this car.

At this time, I’m more than happy with the results and would recommend this product to anyone interested in making their CLK more responsive.

If my opinion changes, I’ll be more than happy to share my thoughts.

Just ran into this thread. Thanks for the nice review! I have one last one of these boxes to sell. I bought in bulk a few months ago and down to the last one.

If anyone is interested send me a message. The air box will make your car perform better. You can keep using the OEM air filters (some have asked).

And you do not need to send your air box. I will also send you a free fast flow elbow which I mod and will give the car better throttle response. I normally charge $60.00. Let me know.
Total price $480.00

Thanks.

None for now
I can attest to the performance of this intake. I was one of the first customers and it's a great product and the fast flow elbow makes a great intake noise when around 1/4 throttle.

Thanks for the support. Anyone interested contact me for the setup that will make your engine perform without restrictions. I know you like how your engine makes things move. But wait till the engine breathes much, much better!

I'm the only guy doing this with a price you can afford (hopefully). Best mod you will pay for!

Is this mod strictly a "V8" mod?

THX.

Yes, I've only done for the v8 models.
Haven't really tried any others.
