need help with friends car

Hey guys my friend got a 2004 clk500 about 2 month ago . lately on some occasions when he puts it in drive the car stays in 1 gear . Then when he pulls over and restarts the car , The car shifts just fine . there was no check engine light till today . I ran a scanner and i got p2066 from the engine and a code for speed censor on the transmission . What can this be ?

ok so before i tell him to go pull out his checking book . I went to look at the Transmission ECU . and the plug was wet . The wires where also all wet as well as the floor under the wires . I pulled the ecu opened it and sprayed electronic cleaner. I used brake cleaner for the wires and cleaned out everything . left everything open overnight to make sure everything is dry . Will test in the morning . How much is the labor for the conductor plate ?

You probably need to find out why things were wet. What was the liquid? oil, coolant, water?

If the wetness is from transmission fluid, the problem is most likely the pilot bushing connector which leaks fluid into the wiring harness connected to the TCU in the footwell of the passenger side.

You'll need the new design of the connector.

Research about 722.6 pilot bushing connector and you'll find the DIY guide. Easy to do.
