Headlights seals

Hello fellow MB lovers,
Would anybody know if it's possible to change the joint/seal ring surrounding the headlights without having to unmount the headlights?
Oh my 2007 clk550 coupe, the joint/seal around my headlights is half gone/melted. I was hoping that I could just slide the seal over then push it all the way, but some mechanic (that I don't trust due to previous BS work) says I'd have to remove the whole headlight in order to do that.
Please any advice on that?
Thanks

Bummer is what you are going need to remove. Possible the headlights too since there is a chance you won’t be able to squeeze the gasket between the headlight and a fender

Very possible

The space is tight, specially on the lower part. Maybe I could just remove the bumper, there could be enough space then...

If you remove the bumper it takes another minute to remove the headlights.

NO LONGER ACTIVE
Removing the bumper is not that difficult. Just a few bolts hold it in place. You have to partially remove the front half of the fender liners to get to the clamp that holds the bumper to the fender, but the rest is easy wrenching.
