What tint do you folks have on your cars. I have a black CLK and am considering tining it. However, I dont want it to look too cheap. What type of films and darkness would you all reccomend for a Black CLK?

 

I have a pewter exterior, with a titanium tint. About 30% all around, (i think). Looks nice.

 

i had titanium tint on my red slk before, it looked cool, and was very very cool inside during hot sunny days.

yeah it will be 35% by this thursday. At least for one part its more like 100% but, i see this as a whole package, haha...sorry for the OT

 

Also, keep in mind what the tint law is in your states. If tint is legal there, then you might as well go dark all around.

 

I have 15% on my C32 all the way around. It looks nice but not cheesey. My car is black so I have regular black tint.

I had a silver W209 before the C32 and I had the chrome/silver tint at 15% on the car. It looked so sweet, but only w/ a silver car.

Technically but its rarely enforced. And really, I don’t think I have ever heard of anyone or personally experienced a window tint ticket. If you have a nice car, I think more than not law enforcement will just think it’s someone not worth giving a ticket to and just trying to be inconspicuous.

I always like 5% on black. Makes it all blend kinda to me.

Yes it does, factory tinted blue.

 

What are the attributes of blue-tint? Does it have any advantages over the regular black tint? Does it have to be removed before applying black tint?

 

I just got 35% Platinum Plus (Llumar) put on over the blue tint yesterday. My CLK is silver....looks great

 

Anyone know where to get the blue tint?

 

That's a nice tint on your car man! Post some pics for us. I had a silver W209 and had 15% Platinum Plus on my car. I loved it.

I know but I have a CLK 320 W209 and I am looking to tint my car blue just like the 500s or 55s. ANy idea where I can get the tint?

 

z1co: I dont think you can make a blue tint looks like the one that comes from factory. If I were you I will get a metallic paint since I want to tint. At least that's what I did on my C240.

If you want the factory look, you'll likely have to buy new glass.

But, custom shops can do just about anything. I've seen yellow tint and red tint and I'm sure someone sells blue tint (it will probably be much darker than you want).

Check your local laws, though, most states prohibit certain colors of tint.
