Steering wheel replacement

So my the finish over the wood on my original wood and leather wheel started to get hairline cracks and I'm OCD about my cars so I found a solid leather covered one on ebay for a great deal that turned out mint after a little work. My question is there anything to look out for doing the swap? Can I pull the air bag fuse or do I need to disconnect the battery? I have all the tools including a steering wheel puller but it doesn't look like that will work or is needed.

NO LONGER ACTIVE
The SRS system is not powered with the ignition switched off, but if you are worried, disconnect the vehicle battery. You do not need a wheel puller, but you will need a long Torx bit to reach the bolts behind the airbag. I use a Torx drive (like a screwdriver) and then put a 12-point end wrench over the handle to get enough torque on it.

So I did this over the holidays, was successful but I wanted to mention to anyone who attempts it to be sure and pop the orange clips on the airbag connectors outward. I had to search a while to figure that out, didn't want to break them.
