I'm confused; why wouldn't one just use the OEM B6 787 5839? And why would your Dension work in an 05-07 CLK but not 08-09? My 2009 CLK550 uses the same B6 787 5839 Bluetooth adapter I used in my old 2006 CLK350. Also, I bought and sold about a dozen of these back in 2009-2010 and $99 was the going rate.
