I want to retrofit the factory SDAR module into my 2006 CLK350 Convertible. I figured out most of the how-to part from searching, but I still have a couple questions.

1. Is there a factory antenna already installed in the trunk lid?
2. If there isn't a factory antenna, where is the best/most hidden place to put an aftermarket antenna?
3. How do I remove the trunk carpet to access the panel in the back?

I don't believe they installed the antenna unless the SDAR tuner was also installed. The trunk lid is composite (i.e. plastic) so it can be placed inside the lid with no need to drill holes. THat is how the factory antenna is installed. As for removing the carpet, it's fairly easy if you are familiar with automotive trim.

I just ordered the SDAR tuner, but I can't seem to find the bracket anywhere. Can I cheat and use velcro to hold it to the tray?

Sure, or fashion your own bracket from sheet metal, plastic, zip ties, whatever. Just secure it so it doesn't flop around.
