05 CLK500 soft top not fully closing properly. 7/8 way to end and gets stuck.
Broken wires
This is is the rubber wire conduit going to the chrome switch on the rear cover. Open circuit ecu never saw a switch closer. Just saying not always bad parts

Very interesting to know. I also oberved this flexing setup during my investigations after soft top failure and thought this looks curiously exposed. How did you re-establish connection? Did you weld or bridge the wires?

Solder and heat shrink tubing. Tape up the whole harness.
