Rear Suspension Question.

I removed the outside bolt on the lower control arm that attaches the hub. Every time I jack the control arm up to meet the hub the control arm seems to almost move or rotate forward. I changed the struts back in November and don't remember this much trouble getting the lower hub bolt in the control arm any suggestions please?

Not what you want to hear I'm sure but disconnect it at the subframe and then connet it to the hub then jack up the other end and connect at subframe.

Whatever it takes to be driving again. Subframe meaning where all the arms attach the frame individual, or another point?

Thanks. Now that I think about it, I may have loosened up that subframe arm a little when I did the struts 🤔

Hello. After you remove the axle locking bolt and dislodged axle from housing is there some trick to getting axle out of hub? It is still stick inside hub. Also, J believe my issue is that the axle on the donor hub is about 1.5 inches too long which would explain why it came up that short. Need to remove axle.

So my entire issue was that the donor axle sent to me was from a SLK350 which is longer by about 1.5-2 inches as well larger diameter. Needless to say car was from up North at one point and I cannot get that old axle free. New one on the way.
