W209 2004 Clk 320 convertible aftermarket radio help!!

Hi!

New to the forums. I have a w209 clk 320 convertible and I want to replace the radio to a double din. Preferably bluetooth and dvd player. If at least bluetooth and cool screen fine.

I think the problem is, is that I have the Harmon kardon system. I want to know all the parts id need and ill probably take it to a car audio place in the twin cities mn.

Im just hoping because of the harmon kardon system this wont be a crazy expensive install.

Thanks for any future help!!!

BTW this is the double din id like

A MY2004 will have Bose, not HK, but it's the same challenge. Mainly, there is no analog audio wiring from the dash to the speakers. Instead, it uses a fiber optic cable to feed audio to an amp in the trunk, and from there it has analog wiring leading to the speakers. So, you will need to run your own analog wiring from the dash to the trunk, then disconnect the Bose amp, and ties into the speaker wiring there.

Ah, so im guessing Id need to buy an amp as well... as far as an install goes would you have an idea on what that would all cost? Thanks for the reply!

If your head unit has powered outputs, you can use its built-in amp and run speaker wire to the trunk. If you want more power, then run low-level wiring to the trunk and put the amp there. As for cost, I always DIY, so I have no clue!
