Talking Ugly critter found in my water pump (112.955 CLK 320)

Nope this isn't a tabloïd headline Look what I saw just after removing my failed factory original water pump

Yup, that's a mosquito alright. Possibly boiling there for many years. I have never added a drop of liquid in the cooler since ex-wife and I bought the car in 2013 (Never needed. Level has always been fine). Not sure how that insect ended in there but for sure they are a though ***** to still be in that shape.

Anyhow, if you want to hear the squeak of a failing water pump, my original post is here https://mbworld.org/forums/clk-class...122001401.html

NO LONGER ACTIVE
I wonder how that got in there? Maybe a previous owner flushed the radiator a bucket of water that had been sitting int he open collecting dead bugs?
